JEDDAH — The municipal authorities have shut down 18 illegal warehouses operating within a closed complex in the southern part of Jeddah. A joint field campaign, carried out by the Jeddah Mayoralty, in cooperation with the relevant authorities, led to the seizure of the illegal warehouses.
The warehouses contained clothing, furniture, honey, perfumes, foodstuffs, and fake medical products. The campaign uncovered a range of illegal activities within the closed complex, which was being used to store and distribute products and goods in violation of regulations.
The seized facilities included nine clothing warehouses, two honey production warehouses, two furniture warehouses, one food warehouse, one mobile phone accessories warehouse, one warehouse storing products making medical claims, and one perfume warehouse.
Field teams have initiated legal procedures against the violators in coordination with the participating authorities.
The campaign was launched as part of the Jeddah Mayoralty’s efforts, represented by the agency for branch municipalities and under the supervision of the General Directorate for Monitoring and Addressing Negative Phenomena. The campaign was held with the participation of the Ministry of Commerce, the Saudi Food and Drug Authority, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, the Civil Defense, and the Field Control Department. The initiative forms part of the Mayoralty’s ongoing efforts to strengthen compliance with municipal regulations and safeguard residents.
The mayoralty urged citizens and residents to report any municipal violations through the Baladi application or the unified reporting center (940), helping ensure the swift handling of reports and further enhance compliance levels.
