RIYADH — Saudi Arabia has strengthened its standing as a global tourism destination in 2025, recording the highest annual total spending by international visitors at SR159.9 billion. This figure represents an estimated year-on-year increase of 4.1 percent compared to SR153.6 billion in 2024.

This growth was directly reflected in the travel component of the balance of payments, which achieved an annual surplus of approximately SR49.4 billion, thereby reinforcing the tourism sector’s role in supporting the national economy and enhancing overall financial indicators.

In 2024, total spending by international visitors reached SR153.6 billion, laying a strong foundation for continued growth in the tourism sector the following year, as efforts persisted to advance tourism and further develop destinations and services.
