ISLAMABAD — Senior Iranian leadership will arrive in Pakistan Friday or Saturday as the world waits for Tehran to agree to a second round of peace talks with the United States, Iranian and Pakistani government sources told The Post.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi will lead a delegation to Islamabad, which is set to arrive around 10 p.m. local time, an Iranian source said.

Two sources from the Pakistani government said a US logistics and security team ‌was ‌already in place for potential ‌talks.

There was no immediate ‌response from Washington or Tehran to the report.

The last round of peace talks had ‌been expected on Tuesday but never took place, with Iran saying it was not yet ready to commit to attending and a US delegation led by Vice President JD Vance never leaving Washington.

Araghchi earlier held phone calls with Pakistan’s powerful military chief Field Marshal Asim Munir and the country’s top diplomat, Ishaq Dar, as uncertainty remained over the future of peace talks with the United States.

Araghchi also spoke to the president of Iraq’s autonomous Kurdish region, Nechirvan Barzani, the foreign minister’s official Telegram channel posted.
