RIYADH — The Human Rights Commission (HRC) on Thursday concluded a five-day training-of-trainers program on the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, held in Riyadh in cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.

HRC President Dr. Hala Al-Tuwaijri said building specialized national capacities in the field of human rights is a key pillar in promoting awareness and fostering a culture of human rights.

She emphasized the importance of investing in national talent and empowering qualified professionals to transfer knowledge and strengthen institutional capabilities.

Al-Tuwaijri noted that the commission views such programs as a continuous process that extends beyond the training period itself.

She reaffirmed the HRC’s commitment to supporting participants and enabling them to apply the knowledge and tools acquired during the program in their professional and training roles.

The program brought together representatives from government entities and civil society organizations and focused on enhancing understanding of international standards related to women’s rights, developing training and capacity-building skills, and preparing trainers capable of effectively transferring knowledge.

The initiative aims to strengthen public awareness of women’s rights and support the sustainability of national efforts in the field of human rights.
