RIYADH — A resident was arrested by the Criminal Investigation and Research Department of the Riyadh Region Police for making statements during a livestream that were deemed offensive to public

morals and religious values and insulting to women.

The department said the remarks constituted offenses punishable under the Anti-Cyber Crime Law.

The resident was detained, legal procedures were taken against him, and he was referred to the Public Prosecution.
