    New RTA agreement to offer some residents 50% off taxi fares, exemption from parking fees

    A new agreement between the RTA and Ministry of Family will allow parking and toll fees exemptions and reduced taxi fares for some segments of the community. 

    The new agreement, which supports the ‘Family First’ programme, includes benefits for senior citizens, people of determination and students.

    Key initiatives include: 

    • Exemption of senior Emiratis from parking fees

    • Discounted public transport fares for senior Emiratis and students

    • Exemption of People of Determination from Salik toll fees, parking charges, public transport fares, and vehicle registration and renewal fees

    • 50 per cent reduction in taxi fares and driver licensing fees for People of Determination
