    Abu Dhabi Police arrest 375 for filming, spreading misleading info amid regional tensions

    Abu Dhabi Police have arrested 375 people on charges of filming and circulating misleading information via social media related to current tensions in the region.

    The authority confirmed that despite the warnings and alerts issued in this regard, some individuals still violated the instructions. The arrested have been referred to the Public Prosecution for legal action to be taken against them.

    Spreading panic and stirring public opinion is a crime punishable by law, reminded the police, adding that such practices would not be tolerated.

    The public have been called upon to only rely on approved official sources when circulating information, and to avoid falling for rumours and resharing unverified news.

    Abu Dhabi Police regularly monitor social media for such violations, and have arrested hundreds of individuals for sharing false information since the beginning of the war.
