RIYADH — The Muslim World League (MWL), the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and several Arab countries strongly condemned the attempted attacks targeting oil facilities in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Region.
The organizations and countries reaffirmed their solidarity with the Kingdom and support for the measures it takes to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and stability.
MWL strongly condemned the continued attacks by Iran-affiliated militias in Iraq against Saudi Arabia, including the attempted targeting of oil facilities in the Eastern Region.
The Secretary-General and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa described the attacks as treacherous criminal acts that violate religious values and international and humanitarian laws and norms.
On behalf of the MWL’s global councils, bodies, institutions, and the Muslim peoples under its umbrella, Al-Issa reaffirmed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and support for all measures it takes to deter aggressors, safeguard its security and sovereignty, and protect its citizens and residents.
GCC Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi condemned in the strongest terms the continued attacks on Saudi Arabia by Iran-affiliated militias in Iraq, describing them as a dangerous escalation, a flagrant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty, and a direct threat to its security and stability as well as regional peace and security.
Albudaiwi reaffirmed the GCC states’ full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and their support for all measures the Kingdom takes to protect its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. He warned that the continued attacks undermine international efforts to de-escalate tensions and consolidate security and stability.
Among regional countries, Bahrain strongly condemned the repeated attempts by Iran-backed militias to target oil facilities in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Region using drones launched from Iraqi territory.
The Bahraini Foreign Ministry described the attacks as a dangerous escalation threatening regional security and stability, a flagrant violation of the principles of good neighborliness and international law, and a challenge to UN Security Council Resolution 2817. It said the attacks also undermine efforts to de-escalate regional tensions.
Bahrain also affirmed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its unwavering support for all measures it takes to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and stability, including its right to respond to acts of aggression and deter those responsible under Article 51 of the UN Charter, international law, and the GCC Joint Defense Agreement.
Bahrain also praised the efficiency and readiness of Saudi air defenses in intercepting and destroying the drones before they reached their intended targets, helping protect civilians and vital facilities.
The ministry reiterated the GCC’s call for the swift implementation of the Iraqi government’s decision to place all weapons exclusively under state control.
It also called on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to adopt an urgent resolution condemning the attacks, demand their immediate and complete cessation, protect freedom of navigation and the security of global energy supplies and international trade, and hold Iran legally and financially accountable.
Kuwait also condemned the continued attacks by Iran-affiliated militias in Iraq against Saudi Arabia, saying they reflected the militias’ determination to continue escalating tensions and undermine regional security and stability.
Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry described the latest drone attack attempting to target petroleum facilities in the Eastern Province as a flagrant violation of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and a threat to its security and territorial integrity. It noted that the attack occurred while the Kingdom was making sincere efforts to help end the escalation in the region.
The ministry reaffirmed Kuwait’s absolute solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for all measures the Kingdom takes to protect its security, sovereignty, interests, and capabilities, including its inherent right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter.
It stressed that Saudi Arabia’s security is an indivisible part of the security of Kuwait and the GCC states.
Qatar strongly condemned the attempted attacks targeting oil facilities in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province using drones launched from Iraqi territory.
The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs described them as a flagrant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and a threat to its security, stability, and territorial integrity, as well as a clear breach of international law, the UN Charter, and the principles of good neighborliness.
The ministry reaffirmed Qatar’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for all legitimate measures the Kingdom takes to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.
Egypt also strongly condemned the targeting of oil facilities in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Region and the attacks on Jordan, describing them as unacceptable assaults on state sovereignty and vital facilities, a flagrant violation of international law, and a dangerous escalation threatening regional security and global energy stability.
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed Egypt’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and Jordan and its support for all measures they take to preserve their security and sovereignty. It also rejected attacks targeting civilian infrastructure or compromising the security of Arab countries.
