BRUSSELS, 1st June, 2026 (WAM) – Over six years, iron ore imports from third countries fell by 11.3%—from 77.9 million tons in 2020 to 69.0 million tons in 2025, according to data published today. MAKKAH — As pilgrims have departed the holy sites at the end of the annual pilgrimage of Hajj, the General Directorate of Civil Defense has launched early preparations for the 2027 Hajj season. This is through evaluation of services provided to pilgrims throughout their journey, from arrival at entry points of Saudi Arabia to the completion of rituals. RIYADH — The Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) announced on Monday that a total of 160 government employees were arrested in connection with corruption charges during the last month of May. The arrests followed inspection tours, investigation of the suspected cases and initiation of a number of criminal and administrative cases. RIYADH — The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has announced the implementation of its decision to increase the Saudization rate in a dozen procurement professions to 70 percent, effective Sunday, May 31. The decision applies to private sector establishments employing three or more workers in the targeted professions, in accordance with the definitions and job titles approved under the Unified Saudi Occupational Classification. Abu Dhabi residents will soon benefit from a new smart parking experience that automatically deducts fees through the Darb app wallet, Q Mobility announced on Monday, June 1. The ‘Free Flow Paid Parking System’ removes the need for SMS, payment machines, QR codes or any manual transactions, marking a shift towards fully automated parking in the capital.
