The U.S. Commerce Department recently allocated $389 million in R&D funding to four companies working on semiconductor development. This action was in alignment with the government’s CHIPS and Science Act. Verizon recently announced that the company has entered into an agreement worth more than $2 billion with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to supply dark fibre infrastructure to meet AI workload demand. The project combines efforts to address water pollution with the development of sustainable energy solutions.
