LONDON — More than 400,000 people are diagnosed with cancer each year in the United Kingdom, a record high that highlights growing pressure on the country’s healthcare system, according to a new report. Cancer Research UK said more than 403,000 new cancer cases are now recorded annually, equal to around 1,100 diagnoses every day, or one every 80 seconds.
