MAKKAH — The Hajj Security Forces arrested a Myanmar national for transporting six residents in violation of Hajj regulations and attempting to bring them into Makkah.

The suspects were referred to the competent authority to face the prescribed penalties.

The Ministry of Interior earlier warned that maximum fines of up to SR100,000 will be imposed on anyone transporting holders of any type of visit visa into Makkah and holy sites during the period from Dhul Qada 1 (April 19) to Dhul Hijjah 14 (May 31).

A maximum fine of SR20,000 will be imposed on individuals caught performing or attempting to perform Hajj without a permit. The same penalty will be slapped on holders of all types of visit visas who enter or attempt to enter or stay in Makkah city and the holy sites during the period from April 19 to May 31.
