RIYADH — The General Directorate of Narcotics Control seized 845,087 amphetamine tablets hidden inside cardboard sheets in the Eastern Province. A Saudi citizen, the intended recipient of the consignment, was arrested in Taif.

The seizure was part of the Ministry of Interior’s efforts to combat narcotics and its work to monitor smuggling and trafficking activities that target the Kingdom’s security and its youth.

Security authorities urged citizens and expatriates to report any information they may have regarding drug smuggling or trafficking activities by calling the number 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, the number 999 in the rest of the Kingdom, or the General Directorate of Narcotics Control’s hotline at 995, or via email at [email protected].

All reports will be treated with complete confidentiality, and the whistleblower will bear no responsibility, the directorate emphasized.
