BEIJING — A magnitude-5.2 earthquake hit southwest China’s autonomous region of Guangxi early Monday killing two people, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.

Local authorities said 13 houses had collapsed as of 4 a.m., with two people confirmed dead and one still missing.

Four people were sent to the hospital, although none ‌of ‌them had life-threatening injuries, ‌state news agency ‌Xinhua said.

More than 7,000 residents in the city of Liuzhou have been relocated, while emergency teams continue search and rescue operations near the epicenter. National and regional emergency responses have been activated.

Transportation disruptions were also flagged by railway authorities as they inspected the integrity of rail line infrastructure.

Communication and power lines, water and gas supply, and traffic in the affected area were operating normally.
