RIYADH — Three people suffered minor injuries after attacks targeted King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Jazan and Najran International Airport on Monday evening, Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) said Tuesday.

GACA said the attacks also caused property damage at the two airports.

Emergency response teams and relevant authorities responded immediately in accordance with established protocols and emergency plans, the authority said.

The three injured people were transported to hospital for medical treatment.

GACA said it was coordinating with relevant authorities to assess the damage and verify the safety of airport facilities.

The authority said necessary measures were being taken to ensure passenger safety and maintain the security and safety of operations across the Kingdom’s civil aviation system.
