MAKKAH — Worshipers performed Eid Al-Adha prayer across Saudi Arabia on Wednesday morning as Muslims all over the Kingdom started their celebrations on the first day of Eid Al-Adha.

Several Hajj pilgrims joined hundreds of thousands of the faithful who thronged the Grand Mosque in Makkah to perform Eid prayer in an atmosphere filled with spirituality and devotion. The prayer was led by Imam and Khateeb of the Grand Mosque Sheikh Bandar Balila.

In his Eid sermon, Sheikh Balila urged believers to fear Allah, worship Him sincerely, and draw closer to Him through righteous deeds and by avoiding all that He has forbidden. The imam also advised pilgrims to perform their Hajj rituals in accordance with the teachings of Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him), emphasizing the values of mercy, moderation, and easiness that characterize Islamic law in matters of Hajj.

Sheikh Balila urged Muslims to make the most of the Days of Tashreeq through abundant remembrance and gratitude to Allah, while encouraging support for family, the poor, and the vulnerable. He also prayed for the acceptance of pilgrims’ Hajj and for lasting security and stability in the Kingdom.

A large congregation of worshipers performed Eid Al-Adha prayer at the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah in a spiritual atmosphere. The sermon was delivered by Imam and Khatib of the Prophet’s Mosque Sheikh Ahmed Al-Hudhaifi. In the sermon, he extended Eid greetings to Muslims, and praying for the acceptance of their righteous deeds and the continuation of divine blessings.

Sheikh Al-Hudhaifi emphasized that Eid Al-Adha is an occasion to strengthen the bonds of love, unity, and solidarity, encouraging Muslims to cooperate in good deeds and to pray for the continued blessings of security, stability, and prosperity for the nation.

He highlighted Saudi Arabia’s care for the Two Holy Mosques and their visitors, and praised the leadership’s efforts to ensure Hajj and Umrah pilgrims can carry out their rituals in comfort, security, and peace.

Emirs of various regions and governors were among millions of people who attended Eid Al-Adha prayers held all over the Kingdom. Emir of Riyadh Prince Faisal bin Bandar and Deputy Emir Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman performed the Eid prayer with a large congregation at the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Mosque in Riyadh. The prayer was led by Sheikh Hisham bin Abdulmalik Al-Sheikh.
