NEW YORK, 4th August, 2026 (WAM) — Oil prices fell as low as 4% on August 4 to a three-week low. Brent crude futures fell US$3.11, or 3.71%, to US$80.66 a barrel and US West Texas Intermediate futures dropped US$3.58, or 4.46%, to US$76.76 a barrel. JEDDAH — The municipal authorities have shut down 18 illegal warehouses operating within a closed complex in the southern part of Jeddah. A joint field campaign, carried out by the Jeddah Mayoralty, in cooperation with the relevant authorities, led to the seizure of the illegal warehouses. The warehouses contained clothing, furniture, honey, perfumes, foodstuffs, and fake medical products. NTT recently invested in a deep-tech start-up named OptQC, with the end goal of this collaboration to advance joint research into quantum computing. The companies are working to deliver a 1 million-qubit quantum computer within the next five-years which could be used in industries including finance, manufacturing, pharmaceutical development, energy optimisation and advanced AI. Kaspersky Global Research and Analysis Team (GReAT) revealed insights about the new OkoBot campaign targeting cryptocurrency users. The new sophisticated framework employs TookPS to exfiltrate seed phrases and uses a new OkoSpyware module to monitor Chromium-based browsers and deploy various malware strains, including the Rilide stealer.
